Some rock history!

Hey readers,
I though it would be cool to give you some rock history and hopefully you will learn something new you dident know about rock music.
There have been several different era`s with different types of rock throuout the era.
The most well known ear is the golden age which ran from 1963-1974.
The most well know genre was the british invasion. Some of the most well known bands during the british invasion were the Beatles and rolling stones. It played a major role in the rise of rock music.


Other genre in this era were Garage rock, pop rock ( chicago, Rod Stewart), Blues rock( Eric clapton), folk rock ( bob dylan), psychedelic rock ( Jimi Hendrix), roots rock, progressive rock, glam rock ( David Bowie), soft rock, hard rock, early heavy metal and christian rock.
Other era`s of rock are, punk rock and its aftermath ( mid 1970's to 1980's), alternative goes mainstream ( 1990's) and the new millennium( 2000's).
The new millennium featured genre's such as emo, metalcore and heavy metal and digital electronic rock.
One of the most known rock concerts in history is Woodstock festival of 1969.  It was held in Bethel, New York from aug 15th to aug 18th. There were thirty two performers with over 500, 000 concert goers. The concert ended up being free to view due to there was to little of security and fence to hold out the larger crowd then expected. They took the fence down the night before the concert. Here are some featured bands that were at woodstock, Santana, creedence clearwater revival, The who, Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix.
