The All-American Rejects!

The all american rejects are an American rock band formed in Oklahoma in 1999. The band was formed by members Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter when They both met at a club in 1997 where Nick Wheeler was performing with his band. Tyson offered himself as bass player for there band. The band name came from a combination of two band suggestions, The All-Americans and The rejects which they put together to create The all-american rejects. There style of music ranges from alternative rock to punk pop. They are currently signed with Doghouse, Dreamworks and DGC/Interscope. The band members are Tyson Ritter( lead vocals and bass guitar), Nick Wheeler(Lead guitar and backing vocals), Mike Kennerty( rhythm guitar and backing vocals) and Chris Gaylor(drums and percussion).They currently have 3 albums released and are working on a fourth album that is set to release sometime in 2011. There 3 albums are The All-American rejects(2003), Move along(2005) and When the world comes down(2008). The all-american rejects have been nominated for 17 awards and have won 4 awards in there career, one of which being from MTV video music awards for best group video. Some of there well known songs are Gives you hell, Move along, swing swing, it ends tonight and Dirty little secret. Nickelback!

So im almost sure all of you have heard of or like Nickelback, so I though to give some information on the band. The name came from Mike kroeger when he worked at starbucks he was always giving customers nickel's so he frequently say " here's you nickel back". The band is from Alberta canada and was created by Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and Brandon Kroeger.Nickelback was formed in 1995. They are currently signed with EMI, Roadrunner, Atlantic and live nation.There music Genres are Heavy metal, Hard rock, Alternative rock ect. Nickelback has sold over 21 million copies of albums in the united states alone. Nickelback has released 6 albums over there music carrer. Here are there albums in order of release, Curb, The states, Sliver side up, The long road, All the right reasons and there most reacent one being Dark horse. My favorite album out of there are there most recent one Dark horse as well as All the right reasons. One of my favorit songs by them are Burn it to the ground and and animals. They have several other songs that are known by rock fans. Some of there well known songs are Rockstar, If today was your last day, Gotta be somebody, this afternoon ect. rock bands you may like....

So ive been doing a lot of band post and i though why not do something different for a change. So i am a person who really like any rock music and some of these bands and song im going to give you, you may already know so hope there is at least a few that will be new for you. This week i will be listening to rock stations and searching online to give you guys some new rock songs that have been released. I will also search for some rock concerts around the detroit/ windsor area and as well as Toronto. Guns N' Roses!

Im sure most of you have heard about the band guns n' roses. They have featured songs on video games such as rock band and guitar hero. One of there most common songs being sweet child O mine and Welcome to the jungle, ect. The band was formed in 1985 in Los Angeles California by co- founder Axel Rose ( William Bruce Rose Jr). There Genres are Heavy metal and hard rock. In 1987 there debut album, appetite for destruction has sold over 28 million copies worldwide, allowing it to reach #1 on the US billboards hot 200. That album is also the highest selling debut album of all times in the united states as well as the world. In addition there album earned 3 top 10 hits on the billboard hot 100, one of them songs being Sweet child O' mine. Guns n' roses recieved there name by combining two of the band members names together ( Axel rose and Tracii Guns). Tracii Guns had a lack of attendance at the rehearsals and led to the replacement by Slash. They continued being called guns n' roses even after the departure of band member Tracii Guns. There current band members are Axel Rose (lead vocals and piano), Dizzy Reed(Piano, Keyboards, backing vocals and synthesizer), Tommy Stinson(bass guitar and backing vocals), Chris Pitman(Keyboards, backing vocals and Programming), Richard Fortus(rhythm and lead guitar), Frank Ferrer(drums and percussion), Ron Thal "bumblefoot"(lead and rhythm guitars) and Dj Ashba ( lead and rhythm guitar). They currently have 6 albums released, here are 4 of those albums, Appetite for distruction, Use your Illusion I, Use your Illusion II and there latest album Chinese Democracy. Kid Rock!

Im sure many or all of you have heard of the singer Kid Rock? Well if not he is a very good songwriter/ singer and rapper. Most of his songs can relate to life and emotions. Kid rock's real name is Robert James Ritchie and was born in Romeo, Michigan in 1971. Kid rock had a slow start to his carrer due to most of his studio albums went unnoticed until his Devil without a cause album released in 1998 with Atlantic records. After that his carrer has been getting better and better as time goes. He recently earned triple platinum on his album Rock n Roll Jesus (2007). He is currently set to release his album " born free" on November 16th. He has currently sold over 22 million albums in the United States to date.Kid rock had several problems with the law. One of them is from febuary of 2005 when he was arrested for punching DJ Campos in a strip club. He was arrested for assault and pleaded no contest and was sued for 575 000$ by Campos. His soon to be released album "born free" will feature several other artist on vocals and other band members to play instruments for him. Some featured singers will be T.I., Martina McBride and Sheryl Crow. Some band members will be Chad smith ( drums), James Hetfield(guitar) and Bob Segar( piano). Kid rock currently had 10 albums including born free. Some of his albums are Cocky, Live trucker, Early mornin' stoned pimp, Devil without a cause ect. Some well known songs from his albums are, Only god know's why, Cowboy, All summer long and picture. If u havent heard any of these songs i highly suggest u check one of them out. Kid rock has tour'd with several well known artist. Here are some known artist he had the opportunity to tour with, Metallica, Creed, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many many more. My Chemical Romance!

Im sure many of you have heard of the band my chemical romance, and if u have not well hear is you time to find out about them.  My chemical romance was formed in 2001 in New Jersey.  The band members are Gerard Way( vocals), Ray Toro( lead guitar, backing vocals), Frank Lero(rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Mikey Way( Bass guitar) and Michael Pedicone( drums). There are 2 former band members who are Bob Bryar( drums- 2004 to 2010) and Matt Pelissier( drums- 2001 to 2004). They are currently signed with eyeball, Reprise and Warner Bros records. There band was formed aprox 1 week after sept 11th 2001. When they saw the planes crash into the world trade center it influenced Gerard's life to where he decided to creater a band. The bands name was though of by Mikey Way who was working in a libary and saw a book title that struck him called " Ecstacy: three tales of Chemical Romance". There style of music is Punk revival,  post- hardcore, emo, ect. There influences are Queen, Black flag, Nirvana ect. Some bands that they have had tours with or played with are, Green day, Bon Jovi, Linken park, The Used ect. They have created 4 cd's there most known one being The Black Parade from 2006. Here are some of there songs from that album, The End, welcome to the black parade, Cancer, Teenagers and Famous last words. AC/DC post!

AC/DC is a very well known rock band that was formed in 1973. AC/DC is from Australia and was formed by two brothers, Malcom and Angus young. They have gone thru several different band members thoughout the years. The starting band members were Malcom and Angus, Dave Evans and Phil Rudd. In 1974 Dave Evans( lead vocals) was replaced by Bon scott. Bon Scott died on the 19th of Febuary 1980 after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The band then though of ending but Scotts parents urged them to hire a new lead singer and continue. Other former band members were, Mark evans(bass guitar,backing vocals-1975 to 1977), Simon Wright(drums, precussion-1983 to 1989) and Chris Slade(drums, precussion-1989 to 1994). The current band members are Brian Johnson(lead vocals), Angus Young(lead guitar), Malcom Young(rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Cliff Williams(bass guitar, backing vocals) and Phill Rudd( drums, precussion). There name ( AC/DC) came from when there older sister Margaret seen the initials " AC/DC" on a sewing machine. That stands for Alternating Current/Direct Current. They felt that the initials symbolised there bands raw energy. MTV show " greatest heavy metal band of all time " ranked AC/DC number seventh on their list, and Rolling Stone ranked them #72 in the list of the "100 greatest artist of all time". They have won 1 grammy award and were nominated 7 times. In march of 2003 AC/DC was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. AC/DC has released 16 mind blowing albums in there carrer. Theory of a Deadman

So Theory of a Deadman is one of my favourite band`s. This past summer (2010) I had the oportunity to watch them play live at the Tecumseh corn festival. Theory of a Deadman Was formed in 2001 in Delta, British Coumbia. There band members are Tyler Connolly as lead vocals and lead guitar, Dave Brenner as rhythm Guitar, Dean back as bass and Joey Dandeneau on the drums. There were as well former band members for the drums ( Tim Hart, Brent Fitz).  There style of music is alternative rock, hard rock and they some country and acoustic. They are curently signed with Island records and Roadrunner records. They curently have had 5 top 10 hits on the charts. They have also had a #1 hit which is the song bad girlfriend.  The song Bad girlfriend was written about the lead singer Tyler Connolly's wife. It was written because she is attractive and always has guys hitting on her. Here is 5 of my favourite songs by them that u may like as well, Bad girlfriend, Santa monica, Me & my girl, All or nothing and hate my life. All there other songs are extremly good as well so I suggest u add there other songs up if u like any of these 5! They currently have 3 albums. There albums are theory of a deadman( 2002), Gasoline(2005) and there latest one scars & souvenirs(2008). The band is expected to release a new album in 2011. punk rock

So I was recently listening to some punk rock and I thought it would be interseting to base a post all on punk music. So for people who dont listen to punk rock, what is it ?
Well it was developed between 1974 to 1976 in Australia, United States and United Kingdom.
Punk rock is fast, hard-edged music and is often political with anti- establishment lyrics.
Bands such as the Clash, Sex pistols and the Ramones were known as being the leader of this new music movement. Following this genre of music came a punk subculture, which expressed youth rebllion. Here is a picture of the style that emerged.

Very common elements in punk fasion are, tattoo's, piercings and metal studded and spiked acessories.
The mohawk was a very popular hair style during that era, and fan's who were very hardcore into it addoped a type of skin head look.
Punk concerts are typical to have " moshing". Moshing is when the audience pushes and shoves into eachother for there entertainment. Stage diving was also common during punk concerts.

Some rock history!

Hey readers,
I though it would be cool to give you some rock history and hopefully you will learn something new you dident know about rock music.
There have been several different era`s with different types of rock throuout the era.
The most well known ear is the golden age which ran from 1963-1974.
The most well know genre was the british invasion. Some of the most well known bands during the british invasion were the Beatles and rolling stones. It played a major role in the rise of rock music.


Other genre in this era were Garage rock, pop rock ( chicago, Rod Stewart), Blues rock( Eric clapton), folk rock ( bob dylan), psychedelic rock ( Jimi Hendrix), roots rock, progressive rock, glam rock ( David Bowie), soft rock, hard rock, early heavy metal and christian rock.
Other era`s of rock are, punk rock and its aftermath ( mid 1970's to 1980's), alternative goes mainstream ( 1990's) and the new millennium( 2000's).
The new millennium featured genre's such as emo, metalcore and heavy metal and digital electronic rock.
One of the most known rock concerts in history is Woodstock festival of 1969.  It was held in Bethel, New York from aug 15th to aug 18th. There were thirty two performers with over 500, 000 concert goers. The concert ended up being free to view due to there was to little of security and fence to hold out the larger crowd then expected. They took the fence down the night before the concert. Here are some featured bands that were at woodstock, Santana, creedence clearwater revival, The who, Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix.

I have recently found out about ceveral new rock songs that have came out. Here are a list of some band that have came out with recent songs, Methdots of mayhem, Blessthefall, Five finger death punch, Bullet for my valentine and many many more. 

Alter bridge is releasing there new album november 9th that will be called AB lll. A little about Alter bridge. Alter bridge was formed by guitarist Mark Tremonti from creed in 2004. The band features Scott Philips and Brian Marshall who are former creed band members. Also Myles Kennedy from mayfield four.

A day to remember has recently posted a preview of a song from there upcoming album. The song is called "2nd sucks" from there album "What seperates me from you". The album is coming to stores november 16th. A day to remember is also currently on tour with underoath, the world alive and close your eyes.
